Sažetak
Thiazide and thiazide-like diuretics are antihypertensive agents that have been used in monotherapy or combined treatment of hypertension for half a century. In patients with uncomplicated hypertension, these agents effectively reduce cardiovascular mortality and frequency of heart failure and stroke, while having metabolic side-effects whose frequency primarily depends on the particular medication.
