Sažetak

Fabjan Kaliterna (1886.— 1952.) is one of the most outstanding architect in Split, beetwen the two world wars. He studied to be an architect on the Tehnical high school in Prague from 1906. to 1921. In that period he was one of three students coming from Dalmatia. After having graduated his studies, he came back to Split, where he founded his architectural office. During thirty years he produced three hundreds projects for family houses and public buildings such as Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Commercial Chambre, wall for the villa Meštrović in Meje, Tourist agency building in Split harbour, Rice peeling building in Dubrovnik and some project which has not been realized.
During his studies in Prague he has shawn a great interest for sport's evants.Therefore he decided to transfere his new expirience in his native town. He became one of founders of rowing, swimming, sailing, football and active in many clubs. He did a number of projects for sport objects such as swiming club "Baluni", rowing club "Gusar" swimming pool "Jadran", rowing club "Split" which are realized. Some of his projects such as tribune for rideing club "Dalmatinsko kolo jahača" in Sinj, public bathing beach in Omiš, pontoon for sport club "Firule" project for rowing club "Gusar" on Matejuška and sketches for stadium on the Trstenik which have not been realized.
