Sažetak
In this paper, folk names for the feast days of St. Matthias the Apostle and
St. Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist are analyzed in the Štokavian, Kajkavian,
and Čakavian dialects of Croatian, including among the diaspora. In addition,
folk proverbs and idioms that relate to these two feasts are analyzed. The
Analysis is partly based upon examples of feast-day names, proverbs, and idioms
from existing literature and partly upon material gathered during the author’s
field research.
