Sažetak

The Illyrian-Dinaric endemical species Festuca bosniaca is spread within the pasture-grassland community Festucetum bosniacae. Its range extends in the Northwest-Southeast direction, from the boundary region of Slovenia and Croatia to Albania. Besides this region, a very small exclave of this species is known also on the Apennine Peninsula (Calabria), where it comes as a part of the same pasture-grassland vegetation.
This species, in addition to its typical disposition of sclerenchymatis- sue, is characterized by the presence of 9 or 11 vascular bundles in the leaves. The leaves of a number of populations from the Dinaric region and from Monte Pollino (Italia) were analized (and sketches made) in order to discover whether particular populations, perhaps the most distant ones, showed any differences between themselves with regard to the structure of their leaves, and especially with regard to the above mentioned number of vascular bundles.
It has been found that there is no regularity in the distribution of the number of leaf veins, since specimens with 9 and 11 vascular bundles are present all over the entire range of this species, including the specimens from Monte Pollino. On the other hand, the number of veins in a leaf (9 or 11) has been found to be closely connected with the respective individuum analysed.
Using the data from the herbarial collections and literature, a list of 67 finding localities of this species is given. These sites are shown in the attached map in the appropriate quadrant of the respective ground field, according to the principles for the floristic mapping of Central Europe.
