Sažetak
The paper Needs of young people in juvenile institutions is a review of a part of the diploma paper under the same title that deals with the problem area of the institutional treatment of juvenile delinquents and their needs. The paper describes the research on the satisfaction of needs conducted in the Juvenile institution Mali Lošinj and the Centre for the education of children and young persons Karlovac.
The research was conducted through questionnaires for educators and users, but also through a focused group discussion with the users of those institutions, which resulted in amore comprehensive picture about the satisfaction of the needs of juvenile institutions’ users. Based on the obtained data, a work programme for juvenile institutions was proposed in order to satisfy the needs of their users to a larger extent.
