The Analysis of the Influence of Energy Security on Foreign and Security Policy of the Republic of Poland

Sažetak
In the context of the growing importance of energy issues in international relations the author analyses the influence of the redefined concept of energy security on foreign and national security policy of the Republic of Poland. A new paradigm of energy security, in the framework of the creation of European Energy Policy, is given, then, basic features of the Polish energy sector are presented and foreign and national security initiatives on bilateral, regional and multilateral level, oriented to diversification of energy sources, suppliers and transport routes, aimed to guarantee long term economic, political and security stability are analysed. In conclusion, the comparison with the current energy situation in the Republic of Croatia is presented and fast approval of strategic energy documents is recommended.
