<p>Tvrdoća materijala se uobičajeno definira kao otpor prodiranju alata ili otpor trajnom udubljenju u uzorku. Izuzetno je važno naglasiti empirijski karakter ovog ispitivanja koje zato  nije jednoznačno svojstvo stijene te postoji puno načina i metoda određivanja tvrdoće. Jedan od njih je postupak koji se zove tvrdoća po Leebu koja se može koristi u različitim inženjerskim djelatnostima. Metoda je prvotno primijenjena na uzorcima od metala, ali korištena je i za utvrđivanje tvrdoće stijenskog materijala. U ovom radu prikazana su ispitivanja stijenskog materijala uzetog iz eksploatacijskog polja Kanfanar gdje se eksploatira poznati arhitektonsko-građevni kamen zvan „Istarski žuti“ ili „Giallo d’Istria". Međutim ispitivanja tvrdoće po Leebu na plaštu uzorka u obliku jezgre mogu se obavljati i kod istraživanja nafte i plina pa time ovaj rad daje doprinos široj primjeni jednostavnijih ispitivanja na stijenskom materijalu, uz zadržavanje iste učinkovitosti.

<p>Material hardness is usually defined as resistance to penetration by tools or resistance to permanent indentation in a specimen. It is extremely important to emphasize the empirical nature of this test, so it is not a unambiguously property of the rock. There are many ways and methods to determine hardness. One of them is a method called Leeb hardness, which can be used in a variety of engineering activities. The method was originally applied to metal samples, but has also been used to determine the hardness of rock material. This paper presents tests on rock material from the Kanfanar mining area, where the well-known architectural building stone "Istrian Yellow" or "Giallo d'Istria" is mined. However, Lebb hardness tests on the mantle of the sample can also be performed in oil and gas exploration, so this work contributes to a wider application of simpler tests on rock material, while maintaining the same efficiency.

<label>Uvod</label>
<p>Tvrdoća je bitan čimbenik u ispitivanju stijenskog materijala koji je po naravi sačinjen od različitih minerala, a količina minerala s niskom ili visokom vrijednošću tvrdoće određuje vrijednost tvrdoće stijenskog materijala (Çelik i Çobanoğlu, 2019). Tvrdoća se u najširem smislu definira kao otpornost minerala ili stijena na prodiranje alata ili trajno udubljenje, ali je pri tome važno naglasiti kako je mjerenje tvrdoće empirijsko ispitivanje i stoga nije jednoznačno svojstvo stijene. Jednostavnije rečeno, primjenjuju se različite metode za određivanje tvrdoće, a iznosi i mjere tvrdoće ovise o metodi ispitivanja. Prema uvjetima primjene i teoretskoj podlozi mjerenja tvrdoće stijenskog materijala mogu se razvrstati u tri klase. Prvu klasu predstavlja Mohosova tvrdoća koja se provodi na bazi usporedbe s Mohsovom ljestvicom tvrdoće. Drugu klasu predstavljaju postupci koji su razvijeni za ispitivanja u laboratoriju i tu se ubrajaju postupci prema Brinellu, Rockwellu, Vickersu, Shoreu i Knoopu. U treću klasu spadaju postupci koji su osmišljeni i najviše se koriste za terensko određivanje tvrdoće. Tu prvenstveno spada Schmidtov postupak, ali i drugi dinamički postupci koji koriste na terenu prikladan uređaj (Hoseinie i dr., 2012; Horvat, 2021). 
Tvrdoća se u inženjerskoj praksi koristi kao ulazni parametar pri izradi različitih modela za procjenu (Briševac i dr., 2014; Briševac i dr. 2017), zatim za karakterizaciju sedimentnih stijena (Yari i Bagherpour, 2018), kod određivanja performansi za rezanje dijamantnom žicom (Rasti i dr., 2021), kod ocjene rezivosti stijena s lančanom sjekačicom (Mikaeil i dr., 2021). Pored toga tvrdoća ima utjecaj na usitnjavanje hidrauličnim čekićem i na drobljenje u čeljusnoj drobilici (Kujundžić i dr., 2008).
Ovaj stručni rad nastao je kao nastavak ispitivanja po temi završnog rada (Horvat, 2021) gdje je opisan dinamički način određivanja tvrdoće po Leebu. On se provodi pomoću uređaja koji se može koristiti u laboratoriju, ali je pogodan i za terenska istraživanja. Test tvrdoće po Leebu (engl. Leeb Hardness Test, LHT) provodi se pomoću prenosivog uređaja koji je 1975. godine predstavio Dietmar Leeb (Leeb, 1979) i originalno je razvijen za mjerenje tvrdoće metalnih materijala. On se ponekad naziva samo Equotip, prikladan je za terensku primjenu zbog svoje isplativosti, jednostavnosti, vrlo lake prenosivosti i zadovoljavajuće procjene (Corkum, i dr., 2018). Postoje mnogi standardi za određivanje Leeb tvrdoće pa i Američko društvo za testiranje i materijale (engl. American Society for Testing and Materials, ASTM) ima standard za metodologiju ispitivanja na metalnim proizvodima. Međutim, ti standardi nisu primjenjivi za ispitivanje stijenskog materijala, stoga ni Međunarodno društvo za mehaniku stijena (engl. International Society for Rock Mechanics, ISRM) još nema predloženu metodu za LHT jer je tek naknadno postupak Leeb tvrdoće počeo biti korišten prvenstveno u svrhu procjene jednoosne tlačne čvrstoće (σc) intaktnog stijenskog materijala (Kompatscher, 2004). U međuvremenu su mnogi autori proučavali upotrebu LHT-a na stijenskom materijalu i neki su sugerirali testiranje metoda i korelacijskih jednadžbi između Leeb tvrdoće i jednoosne tlačne čvrstoće (Asef, 1995; Meulenkamp, 1997; Verwaal i Mulder, 1993; Aoki i Matsukara, 2008; Lee i dr., 2014; Yilmaz, 2013; Viles i dr., 2011; Briševac i dr., 2016). Najvećim dijelom korelacije su sadržavale ograničenja u smislu ispitivanja na specifičnom stijenskom materijalu ili su bile bazirane na malom broju rezultata ispitivanja. To je osnovni razlog zašto još uvijek ne postoji dobro uspostavljena procedura za korištenje LHT-a i njegovu uporabu za procjenu σc stijene. Treba naglasiti kako metodologija testiranja LHT-a koristi D-tip sonde Leeb uređaja jer se ona općenito smatra standardnom za korištenje kod ispitivanja stijenskog materijala. Relativno niska energija udara ovaj uređaj čini primjenjivim na trošnije, ali i na svježe uzorke. LHT je primjenjiv na stijene koje imaju jednoosnu tlačnu čvrstoću u rasponu od 5 do 280 MPa pa se stoga smatra pogodnim za primjenu u širem rasponu tvrdoće stijena od Schmidtovog čekića. Važno je naglasiti primjenu LHT uređaja za procjenu stijenske čvrstoće, procjenu vremenskih utjecaja na propadanje stijenskih površina (Corkum i dr., 2018; Horvat, 2021), ali i u istraživanjima vezanim uz naftu i plin (Ghanizadeh i dr., 2014; Sonnenfeld i dr., 2015; Morrell i dr., 2017; Liu i dr., 2020).
Glavni cilj ovog rada je prikazati metodologiju ispitivanja tvrdoće po Leebu na plaštu uzoraka u obliku jezgre koja se može primijeniti i u istraživanju nafte i plina npr. kod interpretacije jezgri istražnih bušotina. Tako dobiveni rezultati su uspoređivani s rezultatima ispitivanja tvrdoće na bazama uzorka (Horvat, 2021) kako bi se utvrdile moguće razlike u rezultatima.
