The central croatian archival journal Arhivski vjesnik promotes the archival science as an autonomous scientific discipline. The Archival theory and practice are at the centre of its interest, with the emphasis on the contemporary development tendencies of the new media and informatical technologies that significantly influence the profession as well as the contemporary records management. They're followed by the history of institutions and to the archival science related disciplines. Archival records, historical articles and dissertations that can't be linked with the history of institutions are not published in Arhivski vjesnik. The Editor board is making an effort of increasing the number of theoretical articles and having more polemical articles and dissertations, more bibliographies on particular research areas or valuable individual archival work.
