HUM, journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar, is a scientific publication which publishes quality papers in the field of humanities and related social sciences. With this intention the Editorial Board was formed and it is composed of eminent professors and scientists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, thus the Journal fulfils one of the important criteria necessary for obtaining the status of an international peer-reviewed journal. The Journal has been published since 2006 with the intention to promote critical reflection on ideas, approaches and different orientations relevant to the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and beyond, concerning language, culture, history, identity and other related topics. The Journal is published biannually. Hum publishes peer-reviewed papers, as well as those that are not subject to peer-review process. Subject to peer review are the papers which may be classified into four categories according to general standards: original scientific paper, preliminary communication, review paper and professional paper. For each paper that goes through peer-review process, two double-blind reviews are made. Reviewers suggest the category, and final decision is made by the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject papers before conducting the peer-review process. If the classified papers are accepted for publication, the author is not allowed to publish the same paper somewhere else without the approval of the Journal Editorial Board. Uncategorized papers such as commentaries, reviews and evaluations are not subject to peer-review process and they are accepted by the Editorial Board on the basis of their personal view. Papers can be written in Croatian or some world language. Authors do not pay any fee for publishing papers in the journal Hum. Readers do not pay any fee to access the journal.
