InterEULawEast
Vol. 2, No. 1, 2015
Gender diversity issues are receiving great attention worldwide. Empirical evidence suggests that stronger women representation on boards is positively related to financial performance. Across Europe, initiatives for greater women representation on boards are undertaken. They vary from one country to another and include proposals in national codes, voluntary initiatives, demands for disclosure of nomination policies and legal quotas for women on company boards. Recent data show that women account for an average of 18.6% of the members of boards...

eng A Feminist Perspective on Multiculturalism
Memić, Amina
Socijalne teme
Vol. 1, No. 8, 2021
Feminism is generally defined as a social movement whose primary goal is to promote and protect women’s rights. However, today feminism not only encompasses the protection of women’s rights but also seeks to protect the rights of all marginalized social groups such as members of the LGBT population, persons with disabilities, or the rights of minority ethnic groups within the wider society. Multiculturalism is defined as a public policy to promote the values of different cultures and their undisturbed existence within a liberal society without...

eng Michael Walzer’s Republican Theory of Distributive Justice: “Complex Equality” as Equal Freedom from Domination
Knoll, Manuel
Croatian Journal of Philosophy
Vol. 19, No. 55, 2019
This article presents a republican interpretation of Michael Walzer’s theory of distributive justice and of his idea of complex equality. It demonstrates that Spheres of Justice is not only a defense of pluralism and equality (as the subtitle announces), but also of liberty or freedom. Like Quentin Skinner and Philip Pettit, Walzer understands liberty as nondomination. For Walzer, a just distribution of all social goods leads to a “complex egalitarian society” in which every citizen is equally free from domination and tyranny. Against alternati...

Sheikhi, Ahmad Reza
Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal
Vol. 63, No. 2, 2015
Ethnic tourism makes women more visible in the public sphere in traditional ethnic communities. In many ethnic traditional communities such as Iran’s Baluchistan, women see ethnic tourism as a window into other cultures. In these kinds of communities, women are often isolated from contact with outsiders because of their responsibilities, which are typically focused on managing the household, while men are responsible for trade and travel. This paper examines how ethnic tourism affects gender equality and helps women in Iran’s Baluchistan for th...

eng Is There a Nordic Way? A Swedish Perspective on Achievements and Problems with Gender Equality in Newsrooms
Edström, Maria
Medijske studije
Vol. 2, No. 3-4, 2011
roditeljskog dopusta. U većini redakcija možemo pronaći gotovo podjednak broj žena i muškaraca. Osim toga u većim novinarskim redakcijama u Švedskoj postoji rodna uravnoteženost i na upravljačkoj razini. Međutim kada je riječ o sadržaju vijesti, žene ostaju u manjini. Koristeći kvalitativne i kvantitativne podatke iz projekata The Global Media Monitor...

Prvi dio rada
posvećen je istraživa...

Kokobili, Alexander
Kairos
Vol. 13, No. 1, 2019
