eng Inflation Theories and Inflation Persistence in Iran
Dastgerdi, Hamidreza Ghorbani
Zagreb International Review of Economics & Business
Vol. 23, No. 2, 2020
This study focuses on: (1) finding the causes of inflation which follows the inflation theories such as Demand-Pull, Cost-Push and Structural inflation.(2) measuring the degree of inflation persistence in order to evaluate the ability of monetary policies to control inflation. Engle- Granger test and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag are applied to analyze the response of inflation to its determinants. The Grid bootstrap Method and Impulse Response Functions measure the inflation persistence. The results suggest that controlling the money supp...

eng Theoretical Base of Monetary Policy Transparency
D. Kruskovic, Borivoje
Zagreb International Review of Economics & Business
Vol. 14, No. 1, 2011
Transparency is most often defi ned as the absence of asymmetrical information between fi nancial markets and monetary policy makers. There are different views on the central bank transparency (Assuring, Exacting, Irrelevance, Conditional, Disturbing and Diverting view). The examination of the central bank transparency is actually the examination of the effects of infl ation targeting.

eng An evaluation of the effectiveness of an inflation targeting strategy in Turkey
Eroglu, İlhan; Çınar, Mehmet; Eroglu, Nadir
Economic research - Ekonomska istraživanja
Vol. 30, No. 1, 2017
In this research, the performance of inflation targeting strategy was
analysed using the least square method (LSM) with the regression
model for economic circumstances in Turkey. The results of this
research can be summarised as follows: (1) Inflation targeting regime
has a weak positive effect on inflation rate performance; (2) There is
no significant relationship between inflation targeting regime and
growth rate; (3) There is a positive but a weak relationship between
inflation targeting regime and exchange rate performance; and (4)...

hrv Učinci uvođenja eura na kretanje potrošačkih cijena i percepcije inflacije: pregled dosadašnjih iskustava i ocjena mogućih učinaka u Hrvatskoj
eng Effects of the Adoption of the Euro on Consumer Prices and Inflation Perceptions: An Overview of Experiences and Assessment of the Possible Impact in Croatia
Pufnik, Andreja
Privredna kretanja i ekonomska politika
Vol. 27, No. 1 (142), 2018

eng The anchoring of inflation expectations in time and frequency domains
Xu, Yingying
Economic research - Ekonomska istraživanja
Vol. 32, No. 1, 2019
This paper introduces wavelet analysis as a tool for investigating the anchoring of inflation expectations in the United States. We show that the anchoring of inflation expectations varies for different groups of economic agents and changes across time and frequency. For consumers, we confirm significant lead-lag relationships between short- and long-term inflation expectations at medium frequencies of one to four years of scale, thus suggesting that short-term inflation expectations had fed into long-term inflation expectations over the crisis...

hrv KORUPCIJA I INFLACIJA U TRANZICIJSKIM ZEMLJAMA EU-a
eng CORRUPTION AND INFLATION IN TRANSITION EU MEMBER COUNTRIES
Piplica, Damir
Ekonomska misao i praksa
Vol. 20, No. 2, 2011

eng Cointegration Approach to Analysing Inflation in Croatia
Malešević-Perović, Lena
Financial theory and practice
Vol. 33, No. 2, 2009
The aim of this paper is to analyse the determinants of inflation in Croatia in the period 1994:6-2006:6. We use a cointegration approach and find that increases in wages positively influence inflation in the long-run. Furthermore, in the period from June 1994
onward, the depreciation of the currency also contributed to inflation. Money does not explain Croatian inflation. This irrelevance of the money supply is consistent with its endogeneity to exchange rate targeting, whereby the money supply is determined by developments
in the foreign ex...

eng NET PRESENT VALUE CALCULATION: REAL LIFE APPROACH
Karpati, Laszlo
DIEM
Vol. 4, No. 1, 2019
Net Present Value (and IRR) is calculation considered as the most widely accepted measures of investment’s financial evaluation. Both methods apply long-term cashflows for 5 to 15 years ahead. During that period inflation certainly has an effect on both cash inflow and outflow figures. Litereture often does not take into account the inflation or suggest a simplified inflation-corrected calculation method. Author proves that it is not appropriate in case of long-term physical investments. A new method: life-long financial simulation is suggested...

eng UNCERTAINTY AND DISAGREEMENT IN INFLATION FORECASTING
Radovanov, Boris; Marcikić, Aleksandra
Ekonomska misao i praksa
Vol. 20, No. 1, 2011
This paper tries to explain how the new adopted strategy of inflation targeting can help in improvement of inflation forecasting accuracy comparing with the price maker’s and consumer’s inflation expectations. For the further analysis authors use well known univariate time series models and structural models. However, the same model can produce the opposite results according to the methodology of involved inflation indicator. Therefore, this paper uses compared analysis for two separated inflation indicators, the core inflation and the consumer...

Zagreb International Review of Economics & Business
Vol. 16, No. 2, 2013
