hrv Liječenje bolesnika oboljelih od mijastenije gravis s COVID-19: pregled literature
Županić, Sven; Lazibat, Ines; Rubinić Majdak, Maja; Jeličić, Mia
Acta clinica Croatica Vol. 60., No. 3., 2021
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the late 2019 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), causes a respiratory disease which could put myasthenia gravis (MG) patients at a greater risk of developing severe disease course, since infections and some drugs are a well-recognized trigger of symptom exacerbation in MG patients. Out of ten most commonly used past and present drugs used in COVID-19 treatment, two (quinolone derivatives and azithromycin) are known to worsen MG symptoms, whereas another t...

hrv Lokulirani pneumotoraks u bolesnika s bolešću COVID-19 – prikaz slučaja
eng Loculated Pneumothorax in COVID-19 Patient – A Case Report
Posavec, Anja Ljilja; Rezic, Tanja
Medicina Fluminensis Vol. 59, No. 1, 2023

eng COVID-19 Microbiological and Radiological Diagnostics
hrv Mikrobiološka i radiološka dijagnostika COVID-19
Jeličić, Karlo; Kurolt, Ivan Christian; Mehmedović, Armin; Višković, Klaudija; Đaković Rode, Oktavija
Infektološki glasnik Vol. 40, No. 3, 2020
The purpose of this paper is to present SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic methods and their optimal implementation. The main routine microbiological diagnostic tools are molecular and serological methods. Sensitivity and utilisation of molecular methods is the best at the disease onset, while serological methods are the best if used at least 5-7 days after disease onset. Positive molecular test result (real-time polymerase chain reaction; RT-PCR) must be interpreted in the clinical presentation context. A sampling site for molecular analysis is based on di...

eng A Case of Pediatric Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome Temporally Associated with SARS-CoV-2
Pavlyshyn, Halyna; Horishna, Ivanna; Slyva, Viktoriia; Dyvonyak, Olga; Panchenko, Olga
Paediatria Croatica Vol. 65, No. 4, 2021
Uvod.

In our study, we examined the effect of COVID-19 vaccination on the incidence of pneumothorax in intensive care patients over age 65. COVID-19 intensive care patients that presented to our department between April 2020 and May 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic were evaluated retrospectively. Patients were divided into two main groups, i.e., before and after the vaccination period. Patients were evaluated retrospectively for the following parameters: gender, age, side of pneumothorax, mortality, discharge, comorbidity, and additional pleura...

eng IMMUNOSENESCENCE, INFLAMMAGING AND RESILIENCE: AN EVOLUTIONARY PERSPECTIVE OF ADAPTATION IN THE LIGHT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Banić, Marko; Pleško, Sanja; Urek, Marija; Babić, Žarko; Kardum, Duško
Psychiatria Danubina Vol. 33, No. suppl 4, 2021
The evolution of immunology enabled the study of role of innate and adaptive immunity in systems biology network of immunosenescence and inflammaging. Due to global reduction in birth rates and reduced mortality, in year 2025 there will be about 1.2 billion of people over age of sixty, worldwide. The notion that the real age is not chronological, but the biological one led to the concept of "bioage", defining the biologic reactivity and resilience, including the immune competence of an individual. A competent immune network, systemic and mu...

eng COVID-19 and the Stroke Patient
Lovrenčić-Huzjan, Arijana
Medicus Vol. 29, No. 2 COVID-19, 2020
