Smokvina Hanza, Sunčana; Vrsalović, Ladislav; Štic, Lovro; Liverić, Lovro
Engineering Review Vol. 41, No. 3, 2021
This paper presents results of the corrosion investigations of specimens made from finished parts for the automotive industry, produced by high-pressure die casting and gravity die casting process of six Al-Si alloys (40000 series). Open circuit potential and potentiodynamic polarization measurements have been performed using a potentiostat with three-electrode set-up in 0.6 M NaCl naturally aerated solution. Microstructural characterization before and after electrochemical investigations has been carried out with optical microscope to establis...

eng Electrochemical Characterization of Bronze Exposed to Outdoor Atmosphere
Otmačić Ćurković, H.; Mikić, D.; Bera, L.; Kovačević, E.; Marcelja, M.
The aim of this work was to examine corrosion behaviour of bare and artificial patinated bronzes during exposure to urban outdoor atmosphere. Studies were conducted on copper and two different bronzes in order to evaluate the influence of substrate composition on patina composition and electrochemical behaviour. Additionally, two different patination methods were compared. Corrosion behaviour was examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with gel-electrolyte electrochemical cell. The composition of patina was determined by ATR-FTIR...

eng Effect of Helichrysum italicum on the Electrochemical Corrosion Behaviour of Iron in Simulated Acid Rain Solution
Pilić, Zora; Martinović, Ivana; Pavlinović, Marija; Zlatić, Gloria
Croatica Chemica Acta Vol. 92, No. 1, 2019
The aqueous extract of the Helichrysum italicum leaves (HI) is tested as a corrosion inhibitor of an iron in a simulated acid rain using potentiodynamic polarisation, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Results of all electrochemical methods indicate an increase of a corrosion inhibition efficiency of the iron with the HI extract concentration. Maximum inhibition efficiency (~ 50 %) is obtained at 2.0 g L–1 HI extract. The inhibitive action is assumed to occur via an adsorption of the HI extract on the iron surface. R...

eng Corrosion Inhibition of Aluminium by Alchemilla vulgaris L. Extract in 3 % NaCl Solution
Martinović, Ivana; Pilić, Zora; Zlatić, Gloria; Barišić, Marija; Čelan, Stipe
Croatica Chemica Acta Vol. 94, No. 2, 2021
Extract of Alchemilla vulgaris L. was investigated as eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for aluminium in 3 % NaCl using electrochemical techniques. According to the results, inhibition efficiency increases with the increase concentration of extract and the highest efficiency (~80 %) is recorded for the maximal concentration of extract (1.0 g L–1). The inhibition activity of extract occurs by the spontaneous physisorption (ΔG ≈ –16 kJ mol–1) on active sites of aluminium surface that follows Freundlich isotherm. Polarization curves showed t...

eng Treatment of oily wastewater by electrocoagulation technology: A general review (2018-2022)
Jasim, Muhammad Aiyd; AlJaberi, Forat Yasir AlJaberi
A huge amount of oily wastewater is discharged annually from several industries like petroleum and petrochemical factories. Scientists and researchers are permanently concentrated on creating conventional technologies or identifying novel treatment options for oily wastewaters, since they need to be treated before being discharged into the soil and aquatic ecosystems. Electrocoagulation technology (ECT) is an electrochemical method employed to remove numerous pollutants from domestic and industrial wastewaters. This paper aims to review the r...

eng The influence of chloride ion concentration on the corrosion behavior of the CuAlNi alloy
Vrsalović, Ladislav; Ivanić, Ivana; Čudina, Diana; Lokas, Lea; Kožuh, Stjepan; Gojić, Mirko
Tehnički glasnik Vol. 11, No. 3, 2017
The influence of different chloride ion concentration (0.1 %, 0.5 %, 0.9 % and 1.5 % NaCl solution) on the electrochemical behaviour of the cast CuAlNi alloy was examined with electrochemical techniques (open circuit potential measurements, linear and potentiodynamic polarization measurements and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)). After polarization measurements, electrode surfaces were examined with an optical microscope and the SEM/EDS analysis. Polarization measurements revealed that an increase in chloride ion concentration lead...

eng The Influence of Microstructure on Hydrogen Diffusion and Embrittlement of Multiphase Fine-Grained Steels with Increased Plasticity and Strength
Begić Hadžipašić, A.; Malina, J.; Malina, M.
The influence of microstructure on hydrogen diffusion and embrittlement of multiphase fine-grained structural steels with increased plasticity and strength was studied with electrochemical experiments which provide the hydrogenation of specimens in conditions simulating practice requirements. By means of all experimental data obtained from permeation experiments, mechanical investigations, SEM and EDS analyses, TRIP steel has shown greater resistance to hydrogen embrittlement than DP steel, testified by lower index of hydrogen embrittlement, l...

hrv Primjena elektrokemijske metode u analizi polisaharida u morskoj vodi
eng Applying electrochemical method in the analysis of polysaccharides in seawater
Plavšić, Marta; Strmečki Kos, Slađana
Hrvatske vode Vol. 27, No. 109, 2019

eng Investigation of Effects of Inhibitor on Corrosion of Carbon Steel in Water with Biocide
Smoljko, Ivana; Vrsalović, Ladislav; Gudić, Senka; Đaković, Klara
Kemija u industriji Vol. 69, No. 9-10 (special issue), 2020
