eng THE REALISTIC TEST FOR THE THESIS ON COMPULSORY INTERNATIONAL: ADJUDICATION LEGAL VALUES IN PRACTICE OF INTERNATIONAL ACTORS
hrv REALISTIČNI TEST ZA ARGUMENT U KORIST OBVEZUJUĆEG MEĐUNARODNOG PRAVOSUĐENJA: PRAVNE VRIJEDNOSTI U PRAKSI MEĐUNARODNIH AKTERA
Krešić, Mario
Pravni vjesnik
Vol. 38, No. 2, 2022
The paper deals with assessment of the practices of international relations regarding the protection of peace, legal certainty and equality. These values are important for the argument in favour of the compulsory international adjudication. In view of the realistic challenges to this argument, the paper aims at answering the questions if these three values are protected by applicable norms of international law, whether the principles protecting these values, if they exist in the international law, are above the principle of protecting the auton...

eng Artificial intelligence and distance learning philosophy in support of PfP mandate
Antoliš, Krunoslav
Croatian International Relations Review
Vol. 9, No. 30/31, 2003
Computers have long been utilised in the legal environment. The main use of computers however, has merely been to automate office tasks. More exciting is the prospect of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create computers that can emulate the substantive legal jobs performed by lawyers, to create computers that can autonomously reason with the law to determine legal solutions, for example: structuring and support of Partnership for Peace (PfP) mandate. Such attempts have not been successful jet. Modelling the law and emulating the...

eng Security cooperation in South-Eastern Europe: Croatia's view and perspectives
Grubiša, Damir
Croatian International Relations Review
Vol. 8, No. 28/29, 2002
The signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement substituted the full-scale war with a “mini cold-war”, that is to say, a truce supervised by the USA and the European Union. Real preconditions for a normalization of the region came only after the defeat of nationalist-authoritarian political forces, both in Croatia, in January 2000 and in Yugoslavia (namely Serbia) in October 2000. In November 2000 the Zagreb Summit of the EU was held, opening the real process of normalization. Despite the fact that the Dayton Agreement established the precondition fo...

hrv IVAN PAVAO II. – VELIKI KOMUNIKOLOG
eng JOHN PAUL II - A GREAT COMMUNICATOR
Skoko, Iko
Hum
Vol. , No. 1, 2006
Papa Ivan Pavao II. bio je na čelu Katoličke crkve od 16. listopada 1978.
do 2. travnja 2005.
prvoj polovici svoga papinskog služenja trudio se približiti ljude i narode
jedne drugima, bez obzira kojemu su političkom bloku pripadali. Poslije
promjena, devedesetih godina 20....

eng “Democratic War”: Democratic Peace Theory and the War in Former Yugoslavia
hrv "Demokratski rat": Demokratska teorija mira i rat u bivšoj Jugoslaviji
Antić, Miljenko; Vlahovec, Jadranka
Međunarodne studije
Vol. XIII, No. 2, 2013
This article analyses the democratic peace theory which holds that democra-cies do not fight each other. It tries to investigate whether the war in former Yugoslavia supports or rebukes this theory. The investigation of Mansfield and Snyder best explains the conflict in Yugoslavia. It was a conflict between democratizing states, which does not rebuke democratic peace theory, but it does challenge it because events in former Yugoslavia show that democratic elections – and they are conditio sine qua non of democracy – do not prevent wars.

hrv Obredna impostacija znaka mira u liturgiji. Kratka komparativna analiza
eng Ritual impostation of the sign of peace in liturgy. A short comparative analysis
Volarević, Domagoj
Služba Božja
Vol. 55, No. 2, 2015
Obred mira jedan je od ekspresivnijih u liturgiji: ponajviše na
izražajnoj razini, jer iako i neki drugi obredi također imaju jasne
i sugestivne ekspresije, pružanje mira uključuje interpersonalnu interakciju.

eng Aid dependancy in Bosnian politics and civil society: failures and successes of post-war peacebuilding in Bosnia-Herzegovina
Bieber, Florian
Croatian International Relations Review
Vol. 8, No. 26/27, 2002
More than seven years of international presence in post-war Bosnia have still not brought lasting stability to the country. Surveys suggest that a substantial share of the population continue to oppose Bosnia in its current form, further evidenced by the continuing electoral success of nationalist parties. These difficulties solicit an evaluation of some of the inherent difficulties of international intervention in a post-conflict setting such as Bosnia. This article will thus examine the symptoms of dependency resulting from international inte...

eng The Genesis of the Idea and Value of Political Peace in Early Modern Political Philosophy
Raunić, Raul
Politička misao
Vol. 57, No. 4, 2020
The main intention of this paper is to reconstruct the conceptual and historical genesis of the idea and value of political peace from the point of view of political philosophy at the intersection between late scholasticism and early modernity. The paper consists of three related parts. The first part highlights methodological and contextual reasons why the idea of political peace has been overshadowed throughout history by dominant discourses on war. The second part deals with conceptual clarifications. The nature of war is distinguished...

eng Security concerns in South-Eastern Europe at the turn of millenium
Bebler, Anton
Croatian International Relations Review
Vol. 8, No. 28/29, 2002
At present no war is being fought in SEE. However this outward tranquility was imposed from outside through energetic military interventions by the West, the establishment of international military and security protectorates over parts of the region, as well as by stationing peace-keeping troops, international police, armed and unarmed foreign observers at the hottest trouble spots in SEE. The suppression of armed hostilities did not however add up to real and durable peace. Thus security in the region still remains precarious. Security problem...
