The journal was founded in 1983 by Department of Archaeology, Center for Historical Sciences, University of Zagreb and originally entitled Prinosi. In 1985 (vol. 2) changes its title to Prilozi. From 1992 Center for Historical Sciences changes its name to Institute of Archaeology.
The journal Prilozi Instituta za arheologiju u Zagrebu publishes original scientific and review articles and book reviews in the field of archaeology and related social sciences and humanities. Contributions are subject to a double blind peer review. It is being published once a year (one volume, one number).
