Apolo self-propelled beam transporter

Sažetak

The authors describe the Apolo transporter, which is primarily used to transport concrete girders from the point of manufacture to the nearby temporary disposal site, or for transport on the bridge or viaduct site. The transporter is a self-propelled wheeled vehicle of gantry type, and is equipped with a hoisting winch. In addition to the transporter's technical properties and functions, the operating technology - involving double pre-placement and a launching truss - is described. The practical use of the transporter, and the conversion of the existing fixed suspension into a mobile suspension, is described in full detail.
