Agrarian Relationships and Agricultural Production in The County of Bjelovarsko- Križevacka by the End of the 19th and the Beginning of the 20th Century

Sažetak
The text analyses the agrarian relations and the agrarian production in the County of Bjelovarsko-križevacka from the turn of the 19th into the 20th century. It is possible to establish that the ratio of the agrarian population regarding the total population has kept its level within the average of Croatia and Slavonia, regardless of some minor deviations, which illustrate that a particular region has an exceedingly agrarian structure. The structure of estates in Croatia as well as Slavonia has shown some unfavourable relations regarding the representation of the largest part of small and middle economies with the area of up to 20 acres. The total of the agricultural, viticultural and cattle-breeding production was at the level of the contemporary agrotechnical measures and the tempo of its development was slowed down because of the lack of a whole series of elements necessary for a more rapid development. On grounds of everything that has been said, it can be judged that the county of Bjelovarsko-križevacka had almost all of the characteristics and tendencies that did not stand out from the average of Croatia and Slavonia to any larger extent, which means that that it showed all of the characteristics of an economically underdeveloped region in the context of Middle Europe.
