Sažetak

This paper makes a philological analysis of the whole corpus of wall cookeryrags collected in the Gospić region, with the aim of placing them in a wider sociohistorical context. Wall cookery-rags are examined as part of both a European and a Lika context. The analysis of the selected sample of wall cookery-rags includes linguistic and extra-linguistic characteristics: situational context, visual art, function, content/theme. Wall cookery-rags are an unavoidable part of the cultural heritage of the Lika region with their visual art and linguistic dimension, as well as an irreplaceable document of past times.
