EVALUATION OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION QUESTIONS OF TURKISH LANGUAGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH BLOOM’S TAXONOMY

In this study, it is intended to be determined whether the written examination questions asked in primary schools measure the students’ acquisition about the verbal skills in accordance with the purpose or not; whether the distribution of the written examination questions on the cognitive domain sublevels is balanced or not; and whether the examination questions meet the acquisitions determined in the program or not.
Making a number of suggestions in accordance with the results obtained by the taxonomic distribution in the cognitive domain of the written examination questions used in the measurement of the students’ acquisitions about the verbal skills in Turkey, the level of the questions in meeting the acquisitions determined in the program, and determining the teachers’ measurement and assessment competencies.
Method:The study has been conducted in 47 primary schools selected from different socio-cultural districts in Kayseri province. The written examination papers of 101 Turkish language teachers selected from the determined schools have been collected. A total of 69 written examination papers have been determined with random method among the written examination paper samples belonging to sixth, seventh, and eighth grades and 603 questions have been chosen for analysis. 603 questions on these written examination papers have been examined with qualitative research approach, document examination method, and scanning technique.
The distribution of the written examination questions used in determining the students’ acquisitions about the verbal skills in the cognitive domain sublevels is not balanced.
