Sažetak

This IUPAC's document classifies 111 polymer classes into three groups according to their chemical structure and molecular architecture. For each class, its name, short definition, its characteristic structural feature, an example, and relations to other polymer classes, are given. As the first classification for numerous commonly used polymers (organic, inorganic, synthetic, natural) this document improves the knowledge and communication in the field.
