Sažetak

This work attempts to delineate theology of work in the light of Christian understanding of love, contrary to the so-called poeticised culture and pragmatic theories which consider that all cognition is created from work and that it has one purpose: to purposefully conduct the work; that opinions and principles are only the result of the »elaboration« of the surrounding world; and that work is the source of all values. In this sense, a reflection on work is depicted in the context of social learning of Church teaching, theology of work of the Second Vatican Council, and notably theology of work present in the encyclical letter of the Pope John Paul II Laborem exercens. Pneumatological theology of the work of Miroslav Volf is also presented. It is followed by an attempt to view work in the context of Christian understanding of love and by contextualised concept of work, to make a connection between sociological meaning of theology of work and its gnoseologic meaning. Also, as a back side of work, some sort of biblical and pneumatological theology of rest is attempted to be presented which opens the space for reflection on human freedom.
