Sažetak
The family is an important part of the mission and the activity of the Church, and as such it was the subject of pope Benedict XVI speeches, during his pastoral visit to Croatia, in occasion of the First national day of Croatian catholic families. The author, applying the method of pastoral judgement, analyses Pope’s words in this sense, and points to their theological and pastoral echo. The first part presents the condition of the family in the context of the contemporary disintegrated society and culture, pointing to the difficulties that a contemporary family encounters. Subsequently, he discusses the mission of the family in the society, and its contribution to the development and to the progress of the society. In the third part he actualises the evangelisational mission of the family in the society, with a particular view to Pope’s speeches during his visit to Croatia, and their importance for pastoral work.
