Sažetak

The listing of Varaždin Generalate from 1726 provides us with the survey records of each village under this military command. It also shows the earliest made division of villages by their smallest
administrative units. At the time, there were 351 villages under the Military Border’s Varaždin Generalate rule: the records indicate, that the Ðurdevac’ area had 4 regional units (so called vojvodstvo, or
duchy); in Ivanić there were 6; 8 in Koprivnica and 14 in Križevci. The Varaždin Generalate listing from 1749 gives an insight into the 416 actual military companies, by their village allocations at the
time. these two listings show how the military structure changed over time during the first half of 18th century; they also prove that in the period from 1726 and 1749 the number of villages increased by
65 new settlements, or, almost by a fifth. It probably confirms further settlements and new arrivals on the territory of Varaždin Generalate, a sort of continuation process of the intensive settlement in the previous century.
