Sažetak Acute abdominal pain is one of the most common complaints of patients seeking medical attention. Physicians are mostly reluctant to administer analgesics to such patients, mainly because of fear of masking symptoms and physical signs, which might lead to incorrect diagnosis and treatment. However, many clinical trials have demonstrated that administration of analgesics in acute abdominal pain is safe and does not influence the rate of medical errors. In light of these findings, although the most effective therapy protocols are still unknown, prompt analgesia in acute abdominal pain should be a desired standard of care.
