SIGNIFICANCE AND ROLE OF ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE IN TREATMENT

Sažetak

In this work the reasons have been brought as to why people turn more and more to alternative medicine, the advantages of these methods in comparison to the conventional medicine and
pharmaceutical-chemical products, as well as the research and statistics about the uses of alternative medicine. In order to understand better the meaning ad role of the alternative medicine
in curing, other than division of general medicine, other branches of alternative medicine are explained with a special turn to methods of treatment on the methods related to pharmaceutical branch, and those are homeopathy, fitotherapy and aromatherapy.
In the chapter about homeopathy various shapes of the homeopathic drugs are described as well as their advantage to the old drugs.
Fitotherapy as the oldest form of medicine is used not only in treatment but also in prevention of many diseases. Herbal drugs have been supported by the World Health Organisation who gives help to efforts of undeveloped countries to incrase the use of hebal drugs and therefor spend less already limited funds on fabricated drugs. Aromatherapy is the fundamental part of fitotherapy and is slowly taking its well earned place in the contemporary medicine. Eteric oils make their way to all cells in our body and therefor bring it into ballance. The ways of applying it as well as the effects on the body are described here. The reasons for returning to natural treatment and decreasing of hospital expenses and the use of synthetic drugs which sometimes make more harm than use are also displayed.
