Sažetak

The fungus Gibberella circinata is the casual agent of pitch canker disease on pines (Pinus spp.). The disease is present in the USA, Mexico, South Africa, Japan and Chile. In the Eu it is present in parts of Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. The fungus G. circinata is a quarantine and invasive organism and is potentially dangerous for pines in Croatia. Emergency regulations to prevent the introduction and spread of G. circinata have been implemented within the EU since the 2007 European Commission Decision (2007/433/EC). In 2009 Croatia adopted official measures through special supervision and annual surveys for the presence or continued absence of G. circinata on Pines species and Pseudotsuga mensiessi in its territory. Health condition surveys from 2009. to 2011. were conducted in 12 counties at 169 locations and 203 samples of diseased plant material were analyzed. All results of the analysis were negative for the presence of harmful fungal organism G. circinata.
