Projecting milk consumption in Croatia

Sažetak

Consumer budget level is still the most important factor affecting demand of agricultural products. The subject of this research was to determine correlation level between changes in consumer's income and changes in milk consumption. Application possibilities of these data in future projecting and future demand were examined. Statistically significant relation between available income and milk consumption was determined for three household types in Croatia: farming, part-time farming and non-farming. Calculated coefficients of income elasticities were taken into account in projecting milk consumption in Croatia till 2005 as well as predicted demographic changes and estimated changes in per capita income.
