Sažetak The development of dental ceramics has been long-lasting and plentiful, with its beginning in prehistory. Owing to many researchers, whose persistence, knowledge and activity through the past two centuries have improved the material, methods o f finishing and its application, ceramics has become not only an art technique but also a standard esthetic material.Dental industry has transformed the concepts and results of practical and research work into a currently irreplaceable material in reconstructive dentistry, thus also contributing to the success of dental ceramics. The chronology of the application of ceramics in denture teeth,
inlays, crowns, facets and bridges, is described.
