Secondary lateral caries and its prevention

Sažetak

The authors first point to a high incidence of secondary lateral caries,
indicating the human factor and characteristics of conventional filling materials to be responsible fo r its occurrence. Observations related to SEM in amalgam fillings are reported and own technique used thereby is described: inclination of the enamet-cavity junctions, their conditioning and filling with composite materials that bind micro-mechanicaly and chemicaly to the cavity margins, decreasing thus the possible occurrence of secondary lateral caries due to none or minimal lateral fissure.
