Sažetak

The results of the analysis show that systematic selection for better milk-ability and better capacity ratio between fore and rear teats are primarily necessary for home-bred light spotted and brown breeds. Selection is necessary also in the black-white breed, where priority should be given to animal with good milkability and a well developed ratio between fore and rear teats. Breeding selection according to the mentioned characteristic is efficient, for all animals have high heritability values. Unless the mentioned characteristic are well developed, machine milking loses its full significance.
