Sažetak The Robotic Firefighting System MVF-5 is the unique multifunctional robotic firefighting system developed to extinguish fires in life threatening conditions and inaccessible areas. The porpuse of this vehicle is removing technological brekdowns an fires, making analyzes in the centre of fire and delivery of firefighting means. It is suitable for work in high temperature areas, forests, urban environment, chemical, refinig and nuclear industries, fuel, chemical and ammunition storage, which pose a danger of injury and death to people. This remote control vehicle extends the reach of fire fighters as to protect high risk industrial facilities and other dangerous environments. In this way MVF-5 can extinguish fires with minimal damage to itself and its operators, who remain outside the range of danger during operation. The system is operated from a safe distance of up to 1500 m by using remote-control technology. Its hand-held, standoff remote control allows the operator to remain outside the range of danger to human life during the operation of the vehicle.
The MVF-5 vehicle is equipped with the latest fire-fighting technologies, plus two storage containers for water and foam. It is equipped with centrifugal pump with a flow rate of 2000 l/min and water tank capacity 2000 lit and foam tank capacity 600 l. The industry-leading components give the operator the capability to use water, foam, or a combination of the both extinguishing liquids. Firefighting is conducted by means of hydraulic arm with mounted on it a water monitor with 1200 l/min flow rate and 55 m range. The standard operating tool mounted in front of the system is rotational gripper combined with dozer blade. Dangerous objects can be removed by means of the gripper tool with maximun lift capability of 2000 kg. The gripper can also penetrate buildings, cut wires, and be used as the jaws of life. The dozer blade can push up to 10 000 kg of weight. The tool allows professionals to clear a path in front of the system so that others can safely pass.
The machine is operational within temperature range of -35 °C do +100 °C. The engine and vital components of the machine are protected by steel armor plates. It is designed by ballistics into account and is protected against mine-explosion fragments.
A sophisticated video system allows the operator to have full control of the vehicle movement during operation. The video system consists of six high resolution and waterproof cameras. One of the cameras is a thermal camera, which allows the MVF-5 to operate during the reduced visibility conditions.
