A study on propolis by thin-layer chromatographic method

Sažetak
The solution of ethanol propolis extract was mixed with zinc oxide dust, calcium oxide dust and calcium chloride to produce the paste for covering the dental pulp. The obtained pastes were analyzed by the method of thin-layer chromatography to discover eventual new chemical compounds between the propolis solution and the mentioned substances. The analysis showed no chemical reactions between propolis and tested substances. A number of oxiaromatic acids, which in addition to other components make propolis a pharmacologically active substance, were also produced.
