Asymetries in tooth diameters

Sažetak

The mesiodistal diameters of 568 permanent teeth, from the central incisor to the firs t molar, were tested with regard to differences between the right and the left side.Although the total width of all teeth was the same on both sides the results show differences of mesiodistal size in a considerable part of the tested teeth, mostly between 0,1 and 0,5 mm. The most frequent asymmetries were found in the upper first premolar and in the lower second premolars. There was no statistical significance in any pair of teeth neither was there a sex difference in the frequency of asymmetries.
