The role of the branch library of the university library in higher education system

Sažetak
The University Library Rijeka, as a part of the University of Rijeka, was assigned the duty to organize library activities and services within the new University campus for all University departments that do not have their own libraries. The new structure of the campus has opened new opportunities but has also brought new risks, and has set entirely new tasks for the University Library Rijeka. Establishing a new campus library, as a branch of the University Library Rijeka has been defined by the legal acts of the institution, and it has opened new possibilities in creating user policies in the university community. The Branch Campus Library of the University Library Rijeka was opened on March 1st, 2011 in the campus area Trsat. It operates temporarily at two different locations, but it will soon be relocated into the newly finished University departments building.
