Sažetak

One of the fundamental problems in the reformation of the university teaching is how to better motivate the students in the process of their education. For this purpose the author suggests some changes to be made in the curriculum (its horizontal and vertical coordination), the introduction of some recognized modern methods of work which already gave good results at some faculties. In the teaching of theory the lectures should be substituted by seminars, for which the students prepare themselves not only from the traditional textbooks, but also from the programmated texts for which they show more interest because they enable them to check their actual knowledge. Students would be better motivated if some multidisciplinary tasks were done in teams during the clinical exercises of the basic medical subjects.
To better prepare the students for their future work in the community, the author proposes to charge each student with the medical care of a numerous family. The necessity to accustom the student to continually use the literature is emphasized. Finally, the author thinks that the introduction of the tutorial system would contribute towards a better motivation of students, i. e. if small groups of students were in the charge of one instructor.
