ROLE AND ACTIVITIES OF THE CATHOLIC YOUTH COMMUNITY SYNAXIS IN THE CROATIAN SPRING IN RIJEKA

Sažetak

Author of this article discusses importance, role and activities of the Catholic youth community Synaxis in the city of Rijeka in relation to the events and political movements connected with the Croatian Spring. Since some of the community members were highly involved in religious, social and political life of contemporary Rijeka, local authorities of communist party labeled the entire community as “clero-fascist group”. Therefore, this community suffered the gravest consequences within the entire student movement of the
Croatian Spring in Rijeka.
