Sažetak

The author recalls the basic elements of Christian anthropology that are inherent to Catholic religious education. The inherent anthropological contents of Catholic religious education, such as life, encounter, love, three-dimensionality, human capacity for freedom and the way of liberation contribute to strengthening social bonds, solidarity and brotherhood among people and nations. This includes the philosophical and theological content of religious education, the method of teaching this course and the educational talent of RE teachers. Three-dimensionality of Christian anthropology reminds us that man is a being who is free, reasonable and capable to love, and this is confirmed by the biblical roots of the three-dimensional anthropology: body, soul and spirit. Man, as a being who includes the dimension of possibility, is a being that already is something, a being who seeks to achieve something and a being that still is not something. As a reasonable being, man is capable of free action. His freedom is manifested as the ability to love. A characteristic of a Christian freedom is the ability to give. Therefore, religious education stresses that freedom always has a social dimension and that love is also associated with the process of freedom. Catholic School Religious Education ought to inspire young generations and to arouse enthusiasm in them to encourage and nurture a sense of brotherhood and interconnectedness among all people.
