Sažetak
The area of Maksimir Park has been the cradle of Zagreb sports life since the mid-nineteenth century, when organised recreation and sports began as swimming and skating on the Maksimir lakes. Many plans for the construction of sports and recreational facilities in the western part of Maksimir Park, along Bukovaeka Road, were never realised, but Svetice Meadow, south of Maksimir forest, from the end of the nineteenth century gradually got various sports structures and grew into today?s large sports and recreational complex.
