Socialization of the Youth in Rural and Urban Families for a Working Role in Society

Sažetak

Using the results of a research project on the youth in Serbia, the authoress
point to the specificity of the unfolding process of socialization in the Yugoslav
environment, and particularly to the role of the family in society. Of the numerous
aspects of that process, the following two are discussed in this article: 1. the influence
of the family in both urban and rural settings on the choice of profession
and the school which the children will attend, and 2. the influence of the family
on the development of a relationship towards work, discipline and work habits
among children.
