Sažetak

During the 1991/2 aggression most of the Dubrovnik region was occupied by the Yugoslav army. The latter controlled the entire mainland area from Debeli Brijeg to Ston (Konavle, Župa dubrovačka, Rijeka dubrovačka, Dubrovačko primorje) with the exception of the city of Dubrovnik. Drawing a territorial parallel with the historical borders of the Republic of Dubrovnik, only the Pelješac peninsula and the Dubrovnik islands, in addition to the city area itself, managed to remain free territory. Being in the areas under occupation, several parish offices and their archives were destroyed, a complete list of which has not been made yet. There is evidence that several parish registers (housed in the parish office or the priest’s house in Stravča, Majkovi, Banići) were destroyed in fire. The registers of Slano were destroyed in the local registry office. There are some indications that certain registers, earlier believed to be have been destroyed, are extant after all (Lisac). The exact establishment of the losses and damages remains to be done. On the basis of the data compiled before the war, this article aims to reconstruct the contents of the 1786 Status animarum of the parish of Banići, the register which was burnt in a house fire in Banići in 1991.
