Sažetak
Leo Perutz stellt in seinem historischen Künstlerroman die Suche Leonardo da Vincis nach einem Modell für die Judasfigur seines berühmten Abendmahlfrescos ins Zentrum seiner Darstellung. Vor dem Hintergrund der Judastheologie und der Judasikonographie erweist sich Perutz’ Interpretation von Leonardos Schöpfungsakt als produktives Missverständnis, in dem sich die Spuren einer interventionistischen Ästhetik abzeichnen, die weniger mit Leonardos Kunstverständnis als der Verfolgungserfahrung des Autors zu tun haben.
In this historical novel Leo Perutz portrays Leonardo da Vinci’s search for a model for the figure of Judas on his famous Last Supper fresco. Against the backdrop of the theology and iconography connected with the figure of Judas, Perutz’s interpretation of Leonardo’s act of creation proves to be a productive misinterpretation revealing traces of an interventionist aesthetics, which are related not so much to Leonardo’s understanding of art, but much rather to the author’s experience of persecution.
