Reassessment of the Authenticity of a Document purportedly from 1205 about Dubovi dol

Sažetak
In this paper the author reassesses the question of authenticity of a document manifestly from the year 1205, dealing with purchase of the possession of Dubovi dol on the island of Hvar (Smičiklas's Codex diplomaticus III, No 47, p. 53). In contrast with the Hvar historian Ivo Kasandrić who was in favour of its authenticity, the author tries to prove with ample internal and external evidence that the document in question is a falsification of a much later date. In support of his view, he quotes several 15th century documents hitherto unpublished.
