Sažetak

The archaeological investigations in 2013 in probes 15 and 16, in addition to Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age graves, revealed the remains of canals that probably ran parallel with Roman roads and/or may have delimited individual plots, as well as mediaeval pits and pit-houses and parts of a Copper Age settlement.
By summing up the previous results of investigations in 2008 and 2011-2013 at the Vašarište/Srednje polje site, we have distinguished the southern edge of a Baden culture settlement. A cemetery from the Late Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age lay very close to a contemporaneous settlement. In view of the so far known distribution of graves (a total of 70 graves have been investigated so far), we can assume that the burials were practiced in clusters, within which it is possible to observe differences in the number and type of grave goods. Probe 15, in addition to the results of investigation of sondage 2, has shown that we still have not entirely defined the north-eastern edge of the cemetery, and that the answer to this question will be provided by future excavations in Sotin. The Vašarište/Srednje polje site yielded what is probably the route of a communication leading from Cornacum to Cuccium (Ilok), along which cremation and inhumation burials were found.
