Sažetak

This work comes to the conclusion that it is difficult to unearth everything that comprises Slovenian poetry of the post-Seventies, yet two facts are obvious: 1) this poetry does not continue the trend initiated by the OHO group that was proclaimed and very successfully accomplished by Tomaž Šalamun; 2) these new attempts are formed with distinct clarity and specific symbolism. What emerges therefrom could be labeled as neo-traditionalism. Its main characteristic is a return to tradition on a linguistic and confessional level, instead of on a level of subject-matter. In the language of the poetry, however, it is possible to find its existence in exploration and expression of the new, but this is a slow moving process in comparison to former periods (especially the trends of ludicrousness and concretism). It is clear that the Slovenian avantgarde experiment was never meant to be an aim in itself, for in that case it would have stopped being a »poetical experiments and it had to »grow into« a poesy that rediscovers »language with a poetic function« (Jacobson).
