PASTORAL CARE OF THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION IN THE SECULAR SOCIETY IN RESPECT TO THE CATECHETICAL PREPARATION

Sažetak
The author presents the sacrament of confirmation in the context of the secular society. The sacrament of confirmation is of a great importance for the mission of the faithful and for their testimony in the world. A reevaluation of the current models of preparation is needed, for they do not involve the young in the life of the Church in an adequate manner. One of the important factors for an additional preparation for the reception of sacraments, is the family catechesis. The parish catechesis is particularly important, since the family catechesis is losing its primary status in the faith education, although
no other type of catechesis can replace it. The catechist in the parish should be a person balanced through his humane, spiritual and professional dimension, and capable for understanding the recipient. The parish community should invest a great effort in the catechetical preparation.
