Ferrocene Compounds. XVIII. Synthesis of some 1,1’-Bis(ureidomethyl)ferrocene Derivatives

Sažetak

Several l,l’-ferrocenylenebiscarbinols (2) were prepared by reduction of the corresponding l,l’-diacylferrocene (I; R = CH3, C6H5, P-CIC6H4, and m- CH3C6H4) with sodium borohydride. Condensations of the carbinols prepared with methyl isocyanate in boiling toluene gave a,a’-(l,r-ferrocenylene)bis(N- ethyl-JV.N’-dimethylurea) (4a) and a,a’-(l,r-ferrocenylene)bis(N-arylmethyl- NJf -dimethylureas) (4b - 4d).
