AMBIENT CONTAMINATION CAUSED BY WOOD GLUES

Sažetak

SUMMARY: The paper deals with the adhesives used in the timber industry. Different types of glues are listed as well as the methods and places of their production. A description is given of the gluing process and the gluing mechanisms, both from the chemical and from the mechanical point of view. Glue applications are given as well. The contamination of the surroundings due the emission of free formaldehyde as well as the effect of glues on workers is discussed.
