Sažetak
In this text author examines katubah, ancient document of Jewish (Rabbinical) Law which regulates rights and obligations of Jewish husband and wife. That document contains provisions on the termination of marriage and in that respect focuses on the husband's obligation to compensate his deserted wife. Trough paragraph of the text author describes Jewish denominations and their distinctive approach to this issue. For many Jews it is just formal and literal text, but for many of them it is legal document, specially for the members of Orthodox Jewish community. Author shows that katubah, can be also part of the civil legal systems: in those legal environments which give regulatory powers to religious laws. In Israel, katuba is important part of Matrimonial Law since family courts are run by orthodox rabis who recognize katubah as binding contractual document. Katuba therefore may be connection between two legal worlds-religious and civil.
