Sažetak

The paper presents the work on the NUL Authority File in the National and University Library in Zagreb, pointing out its crucial role in developing and achieving the national bibliographic control. The NUL Authority File has been a member of the Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) since 2013. The paper presents the VIAF, its basic features, the purpose, the structure and the most important statistical data related to records of NUL Authority File in VIAF. Furthermore, the paper presents the ISNI identifier, the process of integration of the ISNI identifier in the NUL Authority File, and the way the NUL uses Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) for distinguishing Croatian authors from others in the NUL Authority File. The paper also describes the process of correcting the authority records according to the new 2011 licensed abridged edition of the UDC.
