Sažetak

Archaeological excavation in Sotin at Srednje polje – Vašarište in 2014 explored an area of 414 m2. Trenches 17 and 18 surveyed parts of a Copper Age settlement, periphery of a late Bronze Age settlement and 11 graves from the Early Iron Age. Also, parts of road from the Roman period were discovered and parts of the early medieval settlement. Traces of settlement in the modern age relate to a shallow canal used to drain water, with finds dated by coins of Francis II from 1800.
There are questions that still demand answers. The eastern border of the Dalj group cemetery remains to be clearly defined with regard to the finds along the eastern profile of trench 17. Surface finds on arable fields east of trench 17 suggest that the Copper Age settlement does stretch further to the east, and same is true for the early medieval settlement.
